Introduction
"Anna Finney´s probing eye investigates the hidden corners in our surroundings. The human blind spot is essential for her inspiration and ongoing social exploration. With integrity and silence she lures into areas in our everyday life that are right there, but at the same time so far away. Her expression is both powerful and subtle.
The canvases depict people or environments on the border lands of existence. It is hardly social indignation that one experiences at first encounter with these pictures, but rather a world void of all other meaning than existence itself, darkness and light intertwining. In her painting the boundaries of the representative picture are once more widened. The lonely figures represent only themselves, they radiate an untouchability of an almost sacral nature."
